Actiquench GTP 20 is a stabilized form of green tea polyphenols extracted from Camellia oleifera, the tea plant. This is achieved through a proprietary process, which protects the polyphenols from oxidation in cosmetic formulations The polyphenol levels are then standardized for their biological activity using BPLC analysis. The polyphenols serve as effective antioxidants and free radical scavengers. Actiquench GTP 20 is a non-toxic and non-irritating to the eyes and skin and can be used in a wide variety of cosmetic formulations. In clinical studies, 5% Actiquench GTP 20 was as effective as an SPF 8 sunscreen in preventing erythema when applied before sun exposure. Additionally it was helpful in reducing the erythema when applied after exposure.
